This thermometer works well and it can take the high heat generated by a gas BBQ grill. (The Taylor thermometer I bought first broke the first time I used it.) It mounts easily in a 3/8" hole in the lid of the grill. However, after purchasing and using this item from here at Amazon, I discovered it's available elsewhere on the web for one-third their price!Customer Review: Accurate

I used a bore and installed this on my Weber kettle grill. It installs easily, looks good and works well.
The temperature readings are very accurate. I use this thermometer for smoking and allows me to keep the lid on to maintain a very consistant temperature. Since it's installed directly on the lid, I don't have it poking through the top vent, restricting my ability to adjust the lid vent.
It's got a short probe so it doesn't interfere with larger pieces of meat either.
I would definitely recommend.

Received this item and am generally satisfied with the quality of the therometer itself. However, the
therometer came in a box with nothing in the way of installation instructions. In order to install I had
to guess at the diameter of the hole it fits through on the BBQ. A simple diagram, indicating the size of the hole would be all that is needed.
Other than that I am satisfied.
