Tools and Hardware Reviews of 2x4basics 07319 ShelfLinks Custom Storage System, Sand, 6-PackCustomer Review: Easy to put together, and strong. Summary: 5 Stars
I've built 3 units with the shelf links, and I've been extremely pleased with the results. Comes with the screws, and easy to follow directions, including how to measure the "in-between" 2x4's for a snug fit. Hardest part of the whole process is picking out the best 2x4's at Home Depot or Lowes...
Customer Review: Finley Wood Rack Brackets Summary: 4 Stars
Reasonable design. Rot/Decay Resistant. Don't know how it will hold up under UV-sun exposure. Moderately pricy unless purchased in a bulk pack. Versatile for custom design assemblies. Accepts standard grade 2 x 4s. Requires fasteners through pre-drilled holes for safe, sturdy assembly. A little tricky to install continuous shelving board. If handy make the cut-outs for the vertical posts, and a few screws secured to horizontal rails. Very sturdy! Otherwise, follow mfg. instructions and cut half sheets for shelving. That leaves voids on the ends and middle, and looks cosmetically crude. But you can cut inserts and patch them in, like I did. Useful as base supports to align/square 2x4 uprights and rails for multi-shelf storage. I used 3 of them to create the base for a 84" high x 104" long x 16" deep storage unit. Brackets on each end and one at the mid-span. Built the rest with only 2 x 4s and saved a ton of money, since brackets at each of 5 shelves = 15 brackets.

Customer Review: Good price! Sturdy product! Could use some minor changes. Summary: 4 Stars
I picked the "Sand" color, because I didn't want the ShelfLinks to stand out the way the Black ones do, and they look great! I have been having problems with water in my basement and purchased these as a way to not only get my belongings off the ground, but the 2x4's that make up the shelves. I'm confident I did so with this product after a few minor adjustments. This product is designed to allow the 2x4 to pass completely through the openings, but in my case I wanted to use them on the ground and leave a half inch between the ground and the 2x4, so I drilled a few more holes for better support and it worked well. Great product at a great price! Can be a little challenging with having to flip everything over to screw into the bottom of your shelves, but the shelves are very sturdy once you are finished. "Measure twice, cut once!"
Customer Review: Shelflinks rock! Summary: 5 Stars
Shelflinks rock! Easy to use, even for a wood butcher like me. For about $410 for seven packages of Shelflinks and the lumber, I filled my new garage with sturdy shelves. About the best I couldn've hoped for any other way is maybe four shelves, 48" long. I covered entire walls with shelves.
You do need some good spatial awareness to make these work, if you're working around windows, but if you can do Legos, you can do these. You do need a good cordless drill-driver with a spare battery and new bits. Also, you WILL need to lag them into a stud, so a stud finder is recommended.
