After perusing many web sites for work benches costing $200 to $500 and not finding the size I wanted, I decided to take a chance on buying this kit. About $60 for the kit and $100 bucks at my friendly neighborhood lumber Co. and I had one BIGWORKBENCH, 8' long by 3' deep with two 3' full length shelves. Plenty of room for all my stuff plus always space to work. Building a dining room table now and have all pieces for trestles laid out and glued...well, I'm pretty happy I bought this kit...OUTSTANDING!Customer Review: Create a great work station in no time for your kitchen

This is advertised as a kit to help create a workstation for a garage or workshop, but my wonderful boyfriend made an AWESOME kitchen unit with the parts and it looks great.
We have a kitchen with limited counter space and little storage. I am an avid cook so I lamented about how I wish our kitchen was more cook-friendly. For Christmas last year he made me a wonderful kitchen workstation with storage using this kit.
He used the shelving brackets to make 2 overhead shelves to store our microwave, cookbooks, ingredients jars, etc. The counter is a giant butcher block from IKEA with plenty of space to prep and work AND to keep my food processor, Kitchenaid mixer and slow-cooker. Below I have 2 HUGE shelves for bakeware, mixing bowls, cookie sheets, muffin tins, pie pans and serving trays. I added little hooks to hold my most used prep tools for quick access.
It has made cooking a delight and not a crowded chore. I recommend this kit to anyone looking for a strait-forward solution to not having enough room to groove.

I was disappointed when I opened this item to assemble it. When I purchased it an entire workbench was shown, when in reality only the frame for a workbench was there and the directions stated that I had to purchase the lumber to complete the bench. This was a great purchase! The best way to review before purchase is to go to the manufacturers website and view the photos submitted by others who have bought and purchased it.
As for the bench itself, it was goof-proof. Bought the lumber at local big box store, had them cut the plywood, and it was together in less than three hours.
Also, the price on amazon.com was lower than MSRP!
Please keep in mind that NO wood comes with the kit, it is legs and screws and shelf brackets only. The same thing could be done using only wood, but when using the kit, all of the measurements are given to you and the finished project looks very nice and well made.
