The part that goes over the door is wider than standard doors. As a result, it tilts slightly. Because of the tilt, I cannot close the door all the way. (The unit hits the door frame and prevents the door from closing all the way.) My doors are 1 3/8 inch wide. This unit is designed for doors that are 1 3/4 inches wide.
On the positive side, the unit is strong. If you do not need to close you door, or if you have thick doors, this product may be OK for your needs.
