Customer Review: Amazing product for the money!
Summary: 5 Stars

Once you get the hang of this item, you will never cut with a dull knife again. I looked at 50 sharpeners and for the money this is really an outstanding product!

Customer Review: Amazing product! No need to buy expensive knives if you have one of these!
Summary: 5 Stars

Like most of you, I hate dull knives. Like most of you, I hate spending too much money on knives, so I was foolish enough to buy those TV infomercial knives over the years and kept most of free knives that came with a large order of steak from on-line ready-to-eat steak sellers.

And then, I finally said to myself "enough is enough, it is time for me to get some serious knives for some serious French cooking." So I ordered bunch of Swiss knives from Amazon (over $150 worth) and decided to get this sharpner since most Amazon shoppers seem to order this sharpner (as little as [...] if you don't mind white as the color) with the knives.

After I received this sharpner along with my Swiss knives, I was about to throw away all of my "miraculously made-in-China" knives, which are supposely made with stainless steel (but rusted anyway) but dull as my fake Samurai swords. I have tried sharpening these knives with those expensive German sharpners before, but I had no success since most of these cheap knives had serrated edges (not your typical German chef knife straight edge). Even when I sharpened my one and only expense German chef's knife with the German knife sharpener, I couldn't get it sharpened well.

So, I put my new sharpner to work (by following the instruction on the package, but had some newspaper below to collect metal scraping from the sharpening process) on my cheap (mostly serrated) knives ("miracle" type, steak knives, chef knives, etc.). You don't need to sharpen them with huge force. You just need to hold it gently with your hand, press down gently and almost slide along the edges (weather serrated or not) to sharpen your knives (as it says on the instruction package). When you do it right, you can hear it (literally). After few minutes (you should see dusty scraped metal on your paper), my dull Chinese knives with cheap stainless steel became as sharp as Japanese sushi chefs' knives. I was able to use these sharpened knives to slice through grapes, tomatoes, and other vegetables with extreme ease (easier than slicing through melted butter), just like how they were advertising on TV. Then I sliced and diced some meat (and anything else that I could get my hands on, including newspapers); no problem!!! I was able to peel grape skins with a cheap serrated steak knife (after sharpening), need I say more?

Now, I am using all my cheap knives thanks to this sharpner. I just bought 3 more of these sharpeners as gifts. Before you think about buying a new set of knives, just get this sharpener, sharpen whatever you have in your kitchen because this darn thing works like a Miracle!!! Now I regret spending over $150 on a set of new Swiss knives.

Highly recommended!!!
