Most people seem to have no problems with this unit, sadly I'm not of them. This unit was only one week into use and the humidity reading is now stuck at 16%. I tried taking the battery out, pushed all the buttons, moved it to different locations, etc. etc. and it's definitely not reading humidity anymore. It was working for that first week doing both the high and low readings just fine.

I'm bummed because I really like this unit for it's readout and being so small and compact. I'm not sure if I should risk buying another one or just bite the bullet and pay extra for more reliable one. I've never had any problems with anything off Amazon all these years until this. Maybe it's a fluke? =(

Customer Review: A Nice and Inexpensive Inddor Climate Gauge

I have an older version of a thermometer and humidity gauge, more than 10 years old. However, it measures 4 to 5 degrees lower than my new "ritetemp" programmable thermostat. I purchased the Chaney gauge and use it as a referee to determine which temperature is correct. It turned out that the "ritetemp" thermostat gives the wrong temp. Now I have the Chaney and two other devices measure the same temperature. However, I can not tell how accurate the humidity measurement is. The Chaney gauge is very simple to use, no buttons at all. It gives a 24 hour period min-max measurements as well as the current reading. I have been using it to measure the climate in all my rooms. A 5-star purchase.

I have owned this thermometer for a few years now and even though it has been knocked off a shelf on multiple occasions, it still works great (has been used in different rooms and managed to survive a major home renovation). I love this little thermometer for not only the temperature but also for showing humidity. I need to monitor both humidity and temperature in multiple rooms, so may be ordering more of these!

I bought one of these units to moniter the humidity for my guitar. After a few days I was only getting a partial display and had to tilt it in a certain way to read it. I finanlly came to the conclusin that it was a peice of junk probably made in some third world county. I dont' care how cheap the cost. If it does not do the job it is worthles. I ended up throwing it away. Save your money.
