We purchased this fan for use in our church's parish hall, specifically to work in conjunction with the air conditioning. It does an excellent job, even on the low setting; on medium and high, it creates a virtual wind tunnel. It's not whisper-quiet like smaller fans intended for household use, but neither is it as loud as many of the other commercial fans we looked at. Solidly built (and made in America - always a plus!), this fan is exactly what we were looking for. If you need something that will circulate air in a large room, the Air King 9220 would be a fine choice.Customer Review: Awesome wind machine ...

We use this fan to cool down the house in summer since we don't have air conditioning. This fan is a more than adequate replacement and blasts the hot air out of our house quite well.
I should note that it's very loud on the "high" setting, which doesn't bother us since it's up in our loft.
It does have a tendency to "walk" a little bit when set on "high." I put a couple of books on either side to hold it in place.
If you are looking for a high velocity, heavy-duty fan to blow a lot of air and don't mind the noise, this fan will do the trick.

This is a great fan for moving a lot of air. It is loud.
I would have rated it a 5 but the plastic molded switch which
allows you to select off, 1, 2, or 3 broke apart on me. It still
works. Just half of the plastic knob is gone.
This knob falling apart did not stop me from buying another one.
