Customer Review: Best Humidifier on the Market.
Summary: 5 Stars

Bottom line.... If you're someone who actually opens up a products owners manual and reads it before using a product, you will LOVE this humidifier.

If you just fill it with water and turn it on you will have (self made) issues with it.

We've used a LOT of different humidifiers on the market. Most are only good for a few months and then start to have different issues. Other units are better but lack meaningful features. This particular humidifier is without a doubt the BEST one that we have ever used, and we love all of it's make sense useful features. This one's a keeper. Do yourself a favor and glance through the owners manual before using, and you will love what this humidifier has to offer. You can even download a copy of it from their website before buying the unit. Over the years Air-O-Swiss has refined this unit and it is to the point of near perfection now. Just be sure to place it in a good spot in the room according to the units instructions and give it some well deserved up keeping maintenance ever so often and you will be happy camper.

Customer Review: Better than average humidifier
Summary: 3 Stars

Last year I purchased a Bionaire after my old Bionaire humidifier died. I had to return it after a month since the cleaning light came on and wouldn't go off despite repeated cleanings. So, I traded it in for a much more expensive Air O Swiss. It worked beautifully for a month until we retired it for the summer. This fall I cleaned it, replaced the beads and the silver stick and fired it up. It consistently comes on and it resets beautifully after cleaning, Right there that seems to be better than average. However, I have noticed TONS of white dust comes out of it despite new little beads in the cartridge and a new silver stick. I didn't notice it so much last year. I've changed the beads and the stick again after 2 months and the white dust is still accumulating.

Pros: Tank holds 2 nights worth of water set at 40% humidity. Easy to clean and fill. Works consistently. Is pretty quiet. Doesn't seem to bother my allergies or asthma.
Cons: Poor aesthetics (ugly), lots of white dust, and expensive to maintain.

Customer Review: CHEESE
Summary: 1 Stars

This is a terrible product. White dust. Stuffy noses. COMPLETELY UNRESPONSIVE 'CUSTOMER SERVICE.' WHAT A NIGHTMARE. My unit stopped working after one year, and troubleshooting help in the brochure is completely cryptic. PUT A POT OF WATER ON THE RADIATOR. IT'S MORE EFFECTIVE THAN THIS $200 PIECE OF #$%^^&.

Customer Review: Consistently works, then consistently fails
Summary: 2 Stars

I've just finished with the second of these that I've owned. It's true that while they work, they work really well. But after about a year, the ultrasonic membrane stops working, even with proper maintenance. This is a non-repairable part, so that's it. The first time, I took it back to Bed, Bath & Beyond and they exchanged it, but now it's failed again, same fault, same timeframe, and I really would rather have something more reliable. The recent poster's remarks about their customer service are also true.

Customer Review: Cool features, hot looks!
Summary: 4 Stars

Pretty much everything I was hoping for! I reviewed humidifiers EXTENSIVELY before choosing this model; it is expensive but the option to choose between cool & warm mist seemed worth it. Honestly, I don't think the choice is that great - I only use the warm (was planning on using cold but it adds a week between cleanings & cools the air, triggering the heater which dries the air out, so...) That's my main problem, it can't keep up with this DRY air in Colorado! So one star off, but not the product's fault. My condo is just under 900 sq. ft. with vaulted ceilings, which is slightly more than it's supposed to be able to handle. I've been running a second, smaller unit in the bedroom, which helps. The humidistat seems pretty accurate, it's usually within 5-8% of my separate external unit. I fill 2x/day, run constantly on high & almost never run out of water. It does shut off when empty, which is nice. The "sleep" setting on mine targets 50%, I thought it was supposed to be 60% but it will never get close (ha!) so doesn't much matter... I would say instead of ordering refill demineralization cartridges, get the refill beads & do it yourself - saves money, garbage & is really easy. Can be awkward to fill tank, but that sort of comes with the territory. Takes a few times to figure out how to get it on the base properly when full, but once you get the hang of it no prob. Controls are intuitive, peruse the booklet once & you're set. The cleaning brush is a neat feature (worth $20? Who knows...) I'd def. recommend to people with ultra-mod decor that want a stylish unit - looks more like a stereo or speaker!
