apparently cell phones will work at very low voltages. This is a 1.5 volt battery (included) holder with phone connections. Put the (AA) battery in the nicely machined holder and it's a mini flashlight with click-on click-off button and TWO kinda bright LED's. In an emergency (while in the flashlight 'on' mode) you plug in the plug and cord that goes to an adapter for your phone. The flashlight LEDs go out and a dim red LED indicated power is going to your phone.
Nice double product (light and emergency battery), good deep blue color, nicely machined NON-ROLL design.
I replaced the regular battery with a AA Lithium battery for temperature extremes and a very long shelf life (years).
There is a small hole in the rear for a lanyard but none provided.
I have NOT made a call with this, but my phone indicates the battery is charging when plugged in. Remember to press the rear button to turn on either mode.
Several adapters for the most common phones. Mine is a Motorola W376g.
I had a similar system on another style of cell phone (1-AA battery).
It's for emergency and won't charge the battery and I would talk fast.
Small case, slightly larger than the battery.
Of course this is NO replacement for keeping an extra charged cell phone battery with the phone.
As always keep a 'ciggy' phone charger in the car, they work quite well and WILL charge the battery.
