Tools and Hardware Reviews of Aquasana undercounter water filter system

Customer Review: Great system!
Summary: 5 Stars

We absolutely love this unit! We have used this system for a number of years now. A couple of years ago, the threads stripped on the filter housing, and the Aquasana replaced the entire filter housing. We've never had any leaks (we had it professionally installed), no problems with pressure...just pure, wonderful water!

Customer Review: Great water filter
Summary: 5 Stars

Installation was easy, product was designed very well and I would recommend it to homeowners.

Customer Review: Housing cracks
Summary: 1 Stars

Housing cracked - twice - second time flooded my kitchen. Great water, while it lasted. I'm sure the water that ruined my floor was great, too.

Customer Review: I could not be more pleased
Summary: 5 Stars

I have owned this system for over 1 year and I am using my third set of filters.

I have found replacing the filters much easier than other water systems I have used (although replacing them does require unscrewing two covers, so it may not be absolutely the easiest system available).

I have had NO problems with the system. I have NOT seen any of the leaking or slow water flow or any other problems that others have mentioned. My latest set of replacement filters came with a tube of FDA approved O-ring sealant, so that addition to the filter replacement process may have been made to address some of the kinds of problems others seem to have experienced.

The water is free of unpleasant smells or taste (unlike the hard, chlorine-rich, algae flavored tap water that it filters). The difference is remarkable. I had to get used to some minerals being left in the water, since the AQ4000 leaves minerals in and my previous drinking water sources (a Premium reverse osmosis system and purchased RO water) took all the minerals out, as reverse osmosis systems are designed to do.

The AQ4000 is not a reverse osmosis system but it does produce pure and tasty water at about nine cents per gallon, based on recommended filter changes.

I do wish that I got the upgraded spigot with the twist valve instead of the flapper type valve, but that is a matter of preference.

Customer Review: Improves water taste very little
Summary: 2 Stars

I don't know about leaking problems. I installed (under counter) myself
and had no trouble. Connections are very simple (too simple?) you just push hoses into recepticals. You cannot connect to your ice maker for filtered water to refrig. Our water out here in the country has a mineral taste, somewhat salty. We had a RO system that just broke down (4 years old it took all mineral taste out of water. I am trying this system to retain some minerals in the water, however it does not improve the taste of our water much. Maybe 40% better. So just know that compared to RO your water will taste much more like straight tap water.
