I looked for a dethacher for a long time and recently fouund this one at Lowe's. It looked like it should work; BUT it does not do a good job at all. I set the mower down so the plastic tines were in the grass. After several trips accross the same area it merely mowed the grass. I set it lower and it still did not do much to remove thatch. I mowed an area approximately 20 X 20 and all it did was mow grass. During this short time several of the plastic tines broke. The replacements cost about $4.00 per pack. Yesterday I went back to Lowe's and bought a True Temper "Dethacher Rake". It is a lot of hard work but: it works!!
