We have a golden retriever with long blond hair, that gets EVERYWHERE.. We don't have many carpets because of the shedding.. (woe our cold and tired feet) We do however have an area rug and a runner on our stairs. One sweep works best on the flat side as oppoosed to the bristle side. But the rubber gives out soo fast, we're on our 3rd one sweep in 2 years. AND YES its a ton of work..
I don't know what we are going to do, I am online today looking at carpet rakes w/ metal bristles.. I hate to admit we've been picking the dog hair up w/ a wet towel, we're literally on our hands and knees!!.. I love my pup, but what a headache.
Skip the one sweep, there has to be something better.

People who claim that the One Sweep Broom doesn't work, just didn't use it correctly. Taking short, firm sweeps on carpet, always pulling the broom toward you, it pulls out imbedded dust and hair that my vacuum left behind. Also, I must tell you that I used the One Sweep only days after having my carpet professionally cleaned, and it STILL pulled out hair from the fibers!
Make no mistake, it requires that you put physical effort into the process. However, the results are nothing short of miraculous. The debris does not easily float into your dustpan. Remember, you are ridding yourself of stuff that lingers due to tangling and static electricity. The secret is to work in small sections -- finish one area before moving on to the next.
The result is absolutely amazing and worth every bit of energy expended.

This product works great because it allows you to scrub up stains without a harsh abrassive surface. Also, the squeegee side is great because it allows you to contain spills to one area. However, you have yo use something to pickup the stain or spill. I used a Shamwow on the squeegee side and picked it up, it worked great.Customer Review: Good For Carpet

This is the most affordable and effective alternative for people who have pets and want to remove the hair that get's embedded into their carpet. You do need to put some elbow grease into cleaning with this broom. This shouldn't be a surprise to anyone when you consider the type of job you are doing. Short and strong brush strokes will make this broom the most effective on carpet. I broke a sweat sweeping my American Eskimo's hair out of a flight of stairs and my bed room. For the price, this product is effective and works as long as you are willing to put in the effort. I think that's a good compromise over buying a high end vaccum at $500. I have yet to use it on liquid spills, but the broom is also very good at sweeping tile floors.
