I rehab houses and needed a good shop vac for cleanup. It sucked up all the 1,400sf, 3" thick the pink insulation in the attic. For this part it's excellent where a regular shop vac with a short hose would not reach all around the attic areas. Perfect for cleaning the cars too. Motor is powerful and suction is good.
My issue is the hose too narrow for picking up larger chips from a wood planer and the filter clogs up constantly where it encounters sawdust, especially fine powder drywall dust. The filter doesn't have enough surface area and clogs up easily. Further it's not possible to clean this filter completely without blowing it with an air compressor. Every 5 minutes of use sucking up drywall dust, I have to clear the filter with an air compressor - frustrating.
I have three of those units at various job sites. The filters are falling apart (the stainless steel band cuts into the cloth filter ripping it apart) since I handle it so often for cleaning. Otherwise, it's a pretty good and well build unit with bunch of attachments.
This machine can also be used as a blower by switching the hose from the suction port to the blower port. I use the blower function to clear a clogged hose. Wall bracket attachment is also included.
I like to see the following improvements:
Better filter (or use the no clog technology)
Larger hose
Remote control (for working in a confined crawl spaces)
