Excellent product. Can be used to clean and oil guns. Will not damage wood and is a good product to soften and "season" leather in shoes and boots. Has a slight licorice smell but not bad. I also use it to clean soot on my stove window. Where it really stands out though, is in cleaning and lubricating guns. Ballistol "seasons" metal and gives it a continuous lubricity without causing it to "gunk up". Excellent product and very cheap if bought as a non-aerosol -- 16 ounces for $7.50. I prefer the aerosol for gun cleaning.
