Customer Review: Not at all as advertised, zero stars if I could pick zero

I needed the extra length of this L-shaped rod and was not able to find one at a reasonable price anywhere else. If you've searched for these, you should know that places want to charge extra for the end mounting brackets and ceiling support bringing the total cost up to about $200 for a chrome set. So, this item looked like a bargain BUT I was nervous about the picture not showing any brackets and ceiling support and no specifications were included. The one very positive review convinced me that it was worth taking a chance and ordering this and that the needed parts were included. This order was actually processed through ACE Hardware, some extra confidence that I would either get the rod or my money back. Well, the rod came, but what was delivered was a STRAIGHT rod, 5 feet in length with NO brackets. No part number or SKU number was on the item or the box. To their credit, ACE provided a number of emails along the way saying that the order was received and then shipped and included a 1 800 number to call if there were problems since you CANNOT just take it back to your local ACE Hardware store. So, I called and quickly got to talk to a person about this mixup. The next day, I received a call from ACE saying that since they couldn't really guarantee that the supplier would send the correct part the next time, they would simply refund my money if I sent the rod back. They provided a prepaid UPS shipper and I returned the rod. After several weeks of not hearing anything, I called ACE and they said that a refund would be processed within 48 hours (which it was). Since ACE couldn't get their supplier straightened out as to what item was being offered and was slow on the refund, ACE doesn't seem to have a really tight online order processing system. I would not recommend ordering this item. ACE was quick to react to the mistake after my phone call and made things right.
