The first one that Battic sent was damaged but I was very impressed with the fact that a real person talked to me and they gave me no hassle in getting a new one; they didn't even want the damaged one returned.
The cover itself is only 'okay'; I knew what it was before I ordered it but it's about the only thing in the market that is made for aftermarket replacements...I was hoping to find something more robust but it doesn't appear that anyone including big box stores has anything better to offer.

Hubby bought this cover for our attic fan along with the magnetic tape also offered here at Amazon Master Magnetics #07019 1"x10' Flex Magnet Tape
I posted a couple pics of my own. Sure beats plastic and duct tape all to pieces. What a classy solution. I recommend this product along with the flex magnetic tape. Don't think it would work quite the same without the tape but it's still a beautiful solution and we're thrilled with the way it looks and of course with the way it performs as well. No drafts for the winter months.

This is a cut to fit solution to a heat loss problem. Now that it's in place, I don't notice it. The supplied Velcro tape made no sense to me, as you would have part of it permanently attached to the shutter. It would look tacky. I went out and bought two roll of adhesive magnetic tape (less than $3.00 for both), attached the tape to the back of the insulation, and stuck the insulation up to the shutter for a tight, magnetic seal. When summer comes, the insultation goes away with no evidence of its existance.Customer Review: Don't feel like I got what I paid for

I had high hopes for this product, and I guess I should have kept looking for what I really wanted - a large, bendable magnetic seal to cover my large return opening. The product provides what they claim, but the insulation material does not cut cleanly, hence the provided roll of white electrical tape to "cover" the edges. However, the tape didn't adhere for long, and isn't wide enough to wrap around the edge. Plus, it's a different color than the insulation material, so unless you are really accurate with your tape placement, you're not going to end up with anything very clean looking.
Pros: It does pretty much seal off air flow to the vent. But, only being about a quarter inch thick, it does not seem to provide much in the way of any R-value for keeping the heat from really gong where I don't want it.
Bottom line, had I to do over again, I think I'd just pull down the return register before heating season, maybe install this product on the BACK side of it (so it is doing the same job, but out of sight!!), and cut a piece of R-12 polystyrene foam or something to stuff in and help keep the heat from escaping to the attic. Instead, I feel like I've got a real kludge of a product that will not live long in this house. Once the wife sees it, it's gone!
