Customer Review: A great idea!

I have been using one of these feather-locs on my DeWalt DW746 tablesaw with great success. The "feathers" have just the right amount of stiffness to hold my stock tightly against the fence without leaving scratches. I also love how easily adjustable this tool is. As for downsides - if you use any sort of spray-on saw top protectant (I use T-9), it will make your miter slots a bit slippery and take away from the effectiveness of this tool until you clean and dry the miter slots. However, when the miter slots are clean and oil free this thing holds just fine. Coincidentally, I have the Bench Dog cast iron router table wing on my tablesaw and this featherboard doesn't work nearly as well in that miter slot as it does in my tablesaw slots. Go figure...
Anyway, this is a good tool that in my opinion is slightly too expensive. If it were $19.99 or less I would give it five stars!

This premium featherboard holds stock firmly against your power tool's fence or tabletop for safer, more comfortable cutting. Use it on the table saw to keep long stock tight against the rip fence, or attach it to your fence to prevent workpieces from lifting during a cut. From routers to shapers to bandsaws, Feather-Loc works great to stabilize pieces on a variety of tools. It features integral fittings for T-slots and includes a miter-slot adapter for tables and fences with standard 3/8" x 3/4" slots.The Bench Dog 10-005 Feather-Loc Featherboard can greatly enhance the performance of your woodworking machines and, more importantly, significantly increase your safety. The 10-005 is made from a nearly indestructible polymer plastic, and its 13 fingers have just the right combination of flex and hold-down power to keep the workpiece firmly pressed against the machine?s tabletop or fence.
The Feather-Loc has T-head bolts that slide into the machine?s miter-gauge slot. It also has a pair of adjustment slots and two large knobs that allow you to position the featherboard, and then securely lock it in place. It?ll also fit most 3/8-inch by 3/4-inch T-slot track systems, like those used on the Bench Dog 40-006 ProFence or the 40-037 ProTop Complete Router Table System.
Consider buying more than one Feather-Loc Featherboard, since it can be used on virtually any tool with a miter-gauge slot, including a table saw, shaper, router table, and bandsaw. -- Joseph Truini
