This is a handy little tool and I look forward to using it. One small disappointment relative to the other reviews, this one is not made out of metal. It is solid plastic. If you install mitered casing trim the standard way, you do the two side pieces first, and then measure for the top. I used to have all kinds of troubles getting the top piece's angles to be exactly 45 degrees and form a tight miter. It turns out most of this was probably due to the left and right pieces being ever so slightly not plumb.
This tool is a big help for that -- just pop it in the corner of the jambs and put the mitered side piece against it -- boom, perfect 45! Now your top piece will be nice and 45 too, and you'll save time cutting and tuning.
It costs as much as if it were made from stainless steel or perhaps platinum, but it easily saved me 10 minutes per side of each door I did, and lots of trips to the saw, so I'd say it's worth it.

I have recently bought a new house and I am in the process of a full renovatation. New kitchen, bathrooms, floors and all new windows and doors. I am also replacing all the "clam shell" type molding with a more tradional "colonial style" throughout the house too. This tool is great for anyone who has to trim a lot of doors and windows. It works exactly as advertised.
