Tools and Hardware Reviews of Bird-X YG Yard Gard Ultrasonic Animal RepellerCustomer Review: BobA Summary: 5 Stars
Raccoon deterrent. I had a family of raccoons plowing up my yard. I tried trapping them, hauling them away, and hoping they didn't beat me home. I am quite pleased with my Bird-X Yard Gard. I followed the instructions. I initially mounted it at ground level. It had some immediate effect. I then mounted it about 3 feet high on the side of the house. I put the device on a timer, in the constant mode, so that it only goes on at night. It takes a week or two to have a suitable effect. I still have raccoons, but they now dig a little on the perifery of the oval shaped ultra sound area. I really need two of them to cover my lawn. As far as I am concerned, it works as advertised.
Customer Review: Bought to protect my chickens from cats/racoons Summary: 5 Stars
It works well against stray cats and racoons. I forgot to turn on one day and a racoon ate one of my niece's pet chickens. After I turned it on all the time, racoon never came back.
Customer Review: Completely Ineffective Summary: 1 Stars
Bird-X was completely ineffective. I read ultrasonic devices would not rid my building of it's bat problem, but I thought for $50 I'd take a chance. WRONG! The device did absolutely nothing to effect the habits of the bats. Waste of $$.
Customer Review: Convinced that it does not work Summary: 1 Stars
I read up on a series of reviews on the Bird-X YG Yard Gard Ultrasonic Animal Repeller. The reviews were mixed. I had to try it for myself given that cats were coming up to my soft-top convertible to spend the night. I am convinced now that the device does not work. I still find lots of fur on my soft top in the morning.
Customer Review: Crank It Up! Summary: 4 Stars
After much effort and expense to rid my yard of my neighbor's (5!) cats, one persisted in spraying my doorstep as often as I would wash it away. I installed the YardGuard at a moderate setting, and it reduced the tagging to about once a week. A few weeks later, I reset it to the maximum sensitivity, and it seems to have done the trick. I can now hear it myself, if I stand within a couple feet of it, but that is rare. Now, have you got a machine to make my neighbor go away?
