Very powerful vacuum, easy to use, and easy to empty.
Emptying this little beast can be done without getting your hands dirty. Although, to really clean off the filter, you'll have to get a little dusty.
Yes, it is loud, but it's really not too much louder than a full-size upright vacuum.

I just threw out my old hand held Black & Decker because it would no longer hold a charge and lacked suction in it's old age! Never, did it work like this one...I'm absolutely thrilled that I chose this model as it's replacement. The noise and weight are not an issue for me, hand helds are meant for short usage. I mainly use mine for picking up spilled cat litter in my kitties cage where their box is kept. This little vacuum with it's pivoting-nose got all litter between the wire slots and bottom of the cage. All in all it's worth the cost.Customer Review: 5-Star Rating!

B&D has definitely redefined the Hand-held Vacuum market with this 18-Volt Cordless.
In the past we have tried multiple hand-held cordless vacuums, from Red Devil to the DustBuster, to even other B&D products.
Do you know WHY I only gave this model only 4.9 Stars? Because I'm a Guy! and I want a JUMBO Version of this particular model, as I think this was designed mostly for apartments & homes. It works impressively Well!
A good example is my GF spilled some flour on the bare wooden Kitchen floor, and this Hand held Cordless picked it all, and I mean all of it, within seconds AND there was NO Flour coming out of the exhaust, as it did with other hand-helds before! It has 2-Speeds & is quieter than the other vac's. Because of it's design, the only flaw that I can see is that the waste receptacle is small, which means you need to clean it more often, however, it is very well designed.
She loves the way it Folds together after retracting the Pivoting nose and sits on top of the charger, which by the way has a small footprint.
I would love to HAVE this model in a Jumbo Size w/Lithium batteries, where I could use it my Shop, as sometimes I just need something smaller than my bulky dry/wet vac. It beats out the rest period! Yes, even the Dyson Handheld!

While this is certainly a powerful little hand-held, cordless vacuum, it does have an annoying flaw: When you pick up small items like pet food or popcorn kernels they always come rolling out again unless you hold the vacuum tube at an upward angle. If I'm in a hurry, or tilting the vacuum to empty the dustbin, inevitably some nuggets roll out and I must either suck them up again or pick them up by hand -- which defeats the purpose.
I am going to try the Dyson.

If you don't want to waste your time reading my review here, just look at any of the other 1- and 2-star reviews on this site, which all basically state how I feel about this piece of junk. Wear your ear plugs while you use it, and remember that louder doesn't necessarily equal better. A horrible design concept -- as several other reviewers have mentioned, cat litter rarely makes it up the nozzle and into the cylinder, which, as several other reviewers also mentioned, is a royal pain to empty and clean. I wish that I could return it, but alas, the box has been discarded. BUT!...if I lose one of my 5-lb hand weights, this would be an acceptable substitute.
