Listen up, I am only a "once in a while user" (pictures and easy things) and I have to say this product is a piece of junk. Today was the fifth, yes I said fith time using the auto level and the level "eye" froze in the front position of the product and would not level. It didn't even last 1 year of use. The stud finding is perfect, but don't waste your money, buy a $5 stud finder and not this. Also, if your walls are not perfect, you will have trouble leveling the level! I hate this thing! I have no suggestions, but don't buy this!Customer Review: Very Dissappointed

I bought this tool at Target with high hopes that I could hang pictures without the help of my never-available, handyman husband. It is impossible to read the leveling device and using the pin to hold it on the wall is impractical since it is damaging. My husband, who is very knowledgeable with tools, told me that I had wasted my money. Black and Decker, you have such great ideas. Please allow your engineers to design something that really works even if it cost more or takes more time to get to market!Customer Review: Very Good, but the BDL310 is better.

I have both the BDL170 and the BDL310. They are both lovely because you don't need to rely on a bubble level to get the tool level. Instead, level is automatic. The big difference between the two is that the BDL310 does both horizontal and vertical at the SAME TIME. That has saved me a huge amount of time. Just search for BDL310 and compare for yourself.
