Customer Review: Decent level, but would be better if it was 48in instead of 36in

I bought this level from my local home improvement store for the same purpose/feature as everyone else that has (will buy) this level. As a level it's as good as any other. As for the "Accu Mark" feature on it, it works well but just a few personal preference issues or limitations. The accu mark concept is a great idea, but think it would be better utilized on a 48" level rather than a 36". Most of the mirrors/pictures/etc. that we needed to hang had 2 hooks on them, but the hooks were just barely further apart from each other then what the level was able to do. So, it is a good level and would recommend it, but only gave it 3 stars because of it's ability limitations due to its size on 90% of our projects.Customer Review: Despite the gimmicks, it is a fine level

If you are reading reviews about a level, you are probably interested in whether the gimmicks add or subtract from the quality of the level. At the end of the day, if you take the Gecko Grip and Accu Mark out of the equation you are still left with a fairly priced and perfectly serviceable level.

Accu Mark:
Why all levels don't have this I do not know. It makes complete sense when you think about it and I have found it very useful. It is limited by the width of the level (obviously) so you won't be able to use it when hanging a large picture or mirror but that is barely a criticism. I found the system enabled me to quickly and accurately hang pictures, towel bars ... the list goes on.
Gecko Grip:
The level has rubber on the mark to stop it slipping. That is all it is. It works, it doesn't seem to mark the wall, enough said.
the only minor irritation I had with this grip is that the packaging is stuck to the level leaving sticky residue when it is removed. It is nothing that a clean with some goo gone or similar won't tackle but is a minor irritation all the same.
All in all, this is a very solid level for the intermediate home improver.

Other reviews here saying the level isn't accurate or otherwise doesn't work correctly are wrong. They may have perhaps had a defective unit or a unit that otherwise would not have normally passed QA and slipped through. In this case my suggestion would be to return the unit.
It does work as advertised.
If your wall or surface is not flat then it will not work because the far side (the side opposite of the one you are holding) will not make contact.
To use this level you simply apply slight pressure on one end and this is enough to prevent it from moving on either side.
I never thought I needed to own a level until this one was designed. I think its brilliant. There are so many overlooked annoyances in life, and this product effectively and forever kills one of them (hanging up a frame with fixed position hooks by yourself).
I think its brilliant because its very simple.
Lowe's has this advertised and is selling this for $19.99.
