Tools and Hardware Reviews of Black & Decker CCC3000 18-Volt Cordless Electric Lawncare CenterCustomer Review: A good idea, but needs more power. Summary: 3 Stars
This would probably work fine if you owned a condo or apartment and just a sidewalk and very small yard. The hedge trimmers worked the best out of the group, but I did have to make several passes before it got everything. The blower worked ok also, but again several passes had to be made. The weed eater was fine for grass, but it couldn't do anything with over grown ivy.
Customer Review: A+ Lawncare Center Summary: 5 Stars
I live in the city with a standard lot. (The backyard being quite deep in size).
I'm a 47 yr old woman that enjoys taking care of the yard. Leaving the heavy hauling and digging to my Husband.
I have used the weed/edge trimmer several times. Its light weight and you can adjust it for your height. No more slapping and yanking on the string when it gets jammed, it auto feeds. It also flips around in one swift turn and allows you to go from weed trimming to edge trimming. It has a guard that keeps you from whacking off your flowers, and also helps guide you while you are edging.
I have yet to run out of battery power or string using this tool.
The light weight blower has worked very well for me also. It has no problem blowing the grass or leaves off the sidewalk and deck area. If it starts to loose blowing power before you have completed, you can always slap in another battery. You've got 3.
Now with that said, if you are thinking this has the same blowing capability as a gas blower, you would be disappointed. However, I had a gas blower and I am not one bit sorry I switched to the cordless B&D blower. Slap in a battery and GO.
Not to mention, how many times have you burnt your leg on your gas blower?
The hedge trimmer has been a plus also. I had an electric one before and I was always tripping over the cord, or better yet, slicing through the cord. (Which I did.... ...twice)
The blade on this one is a lot longer then my old one also. Holding the trimmer up during long periods is just as hard on the arms as a trimmer without a battery.
The fact that you have all 3 tools hanging on the wall, ready to go is the biggest plus.
No digging or climbing over other lawn tools to drag out something you have to check the oil and fill with gas.
Once you have charged the batteries a full 9 hrs you are ready to go!
The manual says the batteries can be plugged in and charging "indefinitely".
I also replaced my gas mower with a battery powered mower. So I am now totally gas free, and do not feel like I've lost anything, but really gained a lot.
If you're looking for hassle free and less time it takes to care for your lawn, then this tool system it for you. I strongly recommend it.
Customer Review: Adequate Summary: 2 Stars
The weed-eater trimmer is adequate, but the blower is underpowered. I'd suggest purchasing only weed-eater if possible.
Customer Review: Adequate for my needs Summary: 4 Stars
The trimer is adequate in power and will allow you to maintain an edge on your driveway once it is established. For high grass/weed areas, it just does not have the power to handle. The blower effectiveness is similar in that it will blow clippings off the driveway which is what I wanted. Battery life is about what I expected and with 2 of them, I cam complete my work before I lose the charge. The best thing though is there is no smelly gas/oil fumes and i just feel good about going green.
Customer Review: After two seasons... Summary: 4 Stars
Use them for two seasons now:
The Good: Sufficient for those who have < 5,000 sqf yard to maintain. It comes with 3 batteries. You will need them all for a job, particularly for the blower. They are Ni-cd (old tech). Each tool works as expected for this price range.
The So-So: The cover for the trimmer's motor does not seem to be able to rotate to better protect you. Good for "Groom" but not really for "Edge."
Also, if you forget to charge them (needs 4-8 hrs), you'll have to go without them. When on sales, each item costs about the same as the bundle pricing. You will need at least two batteries (Ni-cd) to do one job, typically. As for the blower, it is really for hard surfaces only as claimed.
