I got these to replace my gas powered equipment. I can use the string trimer to do my conner lot then use the same battery in the blower to do the back and front yard before the battery runs out. These are terrific - lightweight and easy to use. The only drawback is the battery charge - I need to use all 3 batteries for the weed wacker then follow up with the hedge trimmer and blower the next day. It would be nice to accomplish all in one day - so additional batteries are recommended. This outfit is wonderful! It was purchased mainly for the hedge trimmer, which is easy to use and lightweight. The selling point was that there were three batteries, so if one runs down, there is another ready. We have not had to use a second battery yet as they seem to last quite a long time, but probably will when the largest amount of growth occurs on our shrubs next June. There is no electric cord to accidently cut through and the battery is not as heavy as a gas powered trimmer. The bonus for us is the blower and the edger. We own heavy duty gas powered ones which are heavier and sometimes harder to start. I love the blower! It is not as powerful as our gas blower, so probably would not work well for heavy leaves, but I find I use is all the time now to sweep the porch, deck, garage and driveway because it is so easy to use. Just slide in the battery and flip the switch. The edger is also lightweight and easy to use. My husband is now trimming along the driveway and curb everytime we mow. Our gas powered is much heavier and harder to start, so we only trimmed once or twice a month before. We still use it for bigger jobs like the weeds and vines in the wooded part of our yard, as the B&D probably isn't powerful enough for that. We would highly recommend this outfit. It is a great value if you price the tools out separately, and you get the three battery wall charger system where the batteries are always charged and ready.
