I purchased this cordless chainsaw for my wife's birthday at her request. She loves to prune the bushes and trees but found the hand operated saws too physically taxing. We put the saw to it's first test with some overgrown saplings in our hedge row. The saw easily cut 4" diameter trunks allowing us to dispose of 3-4 trees in short order. It held a charge extremely well, and we must have gotten at least 1/2 hour on our first charge.
I doubt if you could do your Winter stove wood supply with it, but it sure is handy and easy to control. The safety switch takes some getting used to. We found the oil leaked out in storage as prior reviews had warned. Be sure to allow adequate time to recharge the battery when you plan on using the saw.
We are so impressed with the ease of use we are considering other 18v cordless applications which would give us a spare battery. Possibly the hedge clipper.

I bought this to carry as a safety tool when I take my UTV back in the trails--its gotten me out of trouble twice when wind blew down a tree. Its battery seems to hold a good charge and its a little workhorse for smaller branch and yard clean up too--and extremely easy to use for those of us with arthritis in the hands who have trouble fighting the heavier gas models. Nice looking, well designed product. Those are the good things. Battery life leaves a lot to be desired. Could only get about thirty minutes of cutting time. Speaking of charge, it REALLY needs a quick charger. Once the battery runs down, you are without the saw for about eight to ten hours. Good for quick and small jobs. Battery useage not an issue if you have two or more as I do.
One big gripe - its messy, leaks oil.

A very handy tool, but it appears to be for small cuts and not for an average tree. I am still experimenting with the saw and expect to know more about it in the next few months.
I like the battery pack because it is compatible with three other tools that I have.
