Tools and Hardware Reviews of Black & Decker CMM1200 19-Inch 24-Volt Cordless Electric Mulching Lawn MowerCustomer Review: B&D cordless mower Summary: 4 Stars
This model was rated as a top pick by Consumers Group, so I thought I would read some reviews on Amazon. Overall, I agree with most of the reviews.
My lot is approx 1/5 of an acre. I found that the mower can handle a small lot like mine easily, as long as the grass has been cut recently! Most of the reviewers mentioned that cordless mowers don't have the same amount of torque as gas mowers. I agree. I found that this model has some difficulty with thick grass. It seems that the electric motor gets over-worked and wants to conk out, whether you're mulching or bagging. But if you use it regularly, it works like a champ. Easy to use, easy to assemble, and it's pretty quiet too. I can hear my neighbors' gas mowers while I'm cutting my own lawn!
I would recommend it if you cut your grass regularly, and have a lot that's reasonably small. The battery life is as they say (1/3 acre between full charges). I think it's a good value for the price paid.
Good luck!

Black & Decker 19-Inch 24-Volt Cordless Electric Mulching Lawn Mower #CMM1200
Very pleased with product. Easy unpacking and setup. Outstanding height adjustment for cutting and use, and rear bag works well. Cuts reasonably well although not quite as even a cut as with a gas power mower. However, the advantages of the cordless electric easily outweigh the liabilities of gas, oil, and emissions!!
Customer Review: B&D rechargeable mower Summary: 5 Stars
This is the second one of these I have bought and LOVE it. EASY to maneuver, no oil or gas or filter to mess with. Blade change is all. Quiet operation, safety features abound, but not aggravating. Grass catcher or not. EASY to adjust cutting height. Great for small or medium sized yards. This is a product I can recommed without reservation.
Customer Review: BD cordless mower cmm1200 Summary: 4 Stars
It's so easy a caveman can do it. LOL. Seriously, my wife and i took it out of the box, attached the handle, plugged it up to charge....and voila, it MOWs.
My yard is less than 1800 SF so i can mow it twice (North/South then East/West) to make sure everything is trimmed. The one drawback is that it doesnt have the suction power of a gas mower so you have to make an extra run to cut some of the longer blades.
Even though it weights over 60lbs and is not self propelled, you wouldn't even notice the weight....since it is on 4 wheels the weight is distributed evenly.
1. quite
2. liteweight
3. clean, no gas, oil, mess....
Customer Review: BEWARE WARRANTY REPAIR Summary: 2 Stars
Before buying this item beware of the issues involved with a warranty repair. I had my Black and Decker CMM1200 mower for only 4 months when the battery/charging system failed. The nearest factory authorized service was OVER 100 MILES AWAY. When I called Black and Decker's consumer '800' number, I was told to:
A. Mail the mower to be repaired.
B. Drive the mower to the service center for repair.
c. Fix it myself and void the warranty.
They finally relented and sent me a new mower. After a few hours of use and storing it over the winter THE SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN! I ended up returning this to Lowes who gave me a full refund towards a gas operated model.
Needless to say, I will not buy any Black and Decker product again, EVER!
