Black & Decker 12-Volt Cordless Broom Hard Surface Sweeper #CS100 is a very handy tool to have "hanging around" literally. It comes with a handy hanging charging station where it resides between uses. Powered by a small 12-Volt sealed Lead-acid battery there is no "memory" problems that plague NI-Cad rechargeables. It has plenty of power for most jobs and I have to yet run out of juice.
Light weight, convenient, powerful and affordable. Only problem, as is with some of B&D's less expensive products, is that there are no repair parts available. They (or you replace) the entire thing.
Regardless, this is a great tool for those with leaf problems on decks and driveways or even blowing the dust off the power tools out in the wood shop. Great for anyone to simply grab, flip the switch and use. Easy on the back and no messing with gasoline, yanking a starting cord or paying out a long extentsion cord that ineviteably becomes knotted up or unplugged.

I have had this item before but after four years the battery wouldn't charge any more. It was cheaper to buy a new blower than get a new battery.. The new one works great and makes less noise. I love this product. I owned one prior to ordering this new one from Amazon.com and was sad to see that the stores no longer carry it. Thank you to Amazon.com for finding it for me. It is ideal for small blower projects and is easy to handle and manipulate. I am a paraplegic and wheele chair bound. The sweeper is lightwieght and powerful. It has enabled me to clean my garage and patio and take some of the burden off of my wife. The Black and Decker sweeper is a good product and the Amazon.com was resonably priced and easy to work with.

Just a little over two years with sporadic use and the impeller shattered. Scared the daylights out of me because when it shatters, it blows up into pieces and is a quite loud little explosion. It is useful for quick cleanups but you must rememember; this is Black & Decker. Use it for a while until its time to throw it away. For the most part, B &D only makes throw away tools. Battery life is about 15 minutes when new and about ten minutes after a year or so. A little after 2 years, battery does not hold full charge and lasts for about 5 minutes. B & D should have used lithium-ion batteries. I would have paid more for this feature but they dont offer it. For the impeller to shatter after two years is unacceptable. A metal impeller would have prevented this. But again, it's B & D. Fancy tools with nice colors. Poor tool function and even worse quality.
