I have owned this iron for almost a year. Really like it. It heats up fast and the temps for each of the fabrics actually work well for those fabrics. Good steam output and the opening to fill it with water actually lets you pour w/o it gurgling air bubles back up - something my old iron did.Customer Review: Great iron until bottom cracked off from being dropped

Great iron, good steam and easy to clean. Love the auto shut off feature. Makes strange beeping noises sometimes though. Even was able to easily clean off the burned on melted carpet when my 6 yr old boy knocked it down and didn't tell anyone (hubby left it on and walked away). After numerous droppings onto the floor the base has now cracked off (duct tape didn't help) and even though it still works it's too much effort to hold the bottom in place while ironing. I've had this iron for about 6 months. The steam only works if I press the "shot of steam" button. The iron doesn't get hot enough and it keeps turning itself off while I am ironing. All in all I'm sorry I wasted 25 bucks on it.Customer Review: Product review

Black $ Decker D1700 Digital Edge steam iron is one of the best irons that I have tried. The Ceramic sole plate, is the best ever. It steams and irons like a dream. I would give this iron as a gift to friends and family members. I highly recommend is iron to everyone. It's light weight, and small hand friendly.
