Tools and Hardware Reviews of Black & Decker D2030 Auto-Off Digital Advantage IronCustomer Review: "Cooking with Steam---o.k., Ironing with Steam" Summary: 5 Stars
Very easy to use---filled water recepticle with distilled water, plugged in iron, choose setting, and was quickly on my way to ironing. I am *very* happy with the uniformity of steam dispensed, the smooth, gliding action of the plate, ample length of cord, and the digital read out that tells you when the iron has reached the appropriate temperature for the setting chosen. It's easy to use and performs with the expectation of a more expensive iron. Grab this model while you can!

Customer Review: #1 on Consumer Reports Summary: 5 Stars
I was doing my research on Rowenta's and almost bought one when I stumbled across this iron- it is indeed ranked #1 on consumer reports and the Rowenta I was going to buy is #4. It is a bit heavy but makes for easy ironing. So far I love it.
Customer Review: 16 Months - B&D Digital Advantage D-2000 Goes Kaput Summary: 1 Stars
Applica Consumer Products made in People's Republic of China ... it says that right on the directions and warranty papers, even though Black and Decker is a trademark registered by a Towson, MD company. This was a 1500W model and it did the job just fine for two of us using it for a few minutes maybe three times per week. Except it stopped working one day after about sixteen months .... maybe just 120 days past warranty. It had NOT been dropped. We always followed directions, kept it full with distilled water, and no children played with it (no kids here anymore). Oh well, you get what you pay for with the twelve month limited warranty on products we no longer assemble in the 'States.
Customer Review: 3.5 to 4 star ! Summary: 4 Stars
This is a good, sturdy and serviceable iron but nothing remarkable. It is about as good as it gets for a standard household iron. It is hefty enough to avoid having to press hard, it has very good temperature control, and really does get hot enough to easily de-wrinkle linen if you use it with steam. However I cannot begin to imagine who the idiot was who conceived of the recommended cleaning procedure. The iron warns you - relatively often - of when it needs to be cleaned but luckily it won't prevent you from continuing to use it. Every time I clean it I need to take out the "manual" to follow the inane instructions. The cleaning works well but how in the world is THIS the recommended procedure: fill with water, plug in until hot, unplug and hold the steaming and sputtering HOT iron horizontally over the sink while simultaneously preventing the setting wheel from rotating back to it's preferred position AND rocking the iron back and forth and side to side until ALL the water in the reservoir is removed?????? RIDICULOUS!
