Customer Review: Replaces the one we dropped on the tile floor

Irons like a dream.
We had a different B&D digital iron. It fell onto the kitchen tile floor -- and then it leaked and it made funny noises but it still worked well. Then it didn't.
The ceramic sole plate on this one is a joy. Things that stuck to the metal sole plate don't stick to this one. The filler and the buttons are easy to figure out and to use.
Looking at the picture in the manual will save you a bit of time over trying to figure out all the buttons yourself. Guess which I did first. It's not complicated, just different.

I liked this iron at first. Then the steam function dribbled off the court, so to speak. It had a great burst of steam for about the first five hours of ironing, now it is so slow that I am looking for a new iron.
The ceramic sole plate is great. I melted a synthetic on to it accidentally and it wiped right off.
Has a great cord that is long and connects with a swivel so it stays out of the way.
Controls are easy to use and it heats quickly.
Too bad about the Steam function...but steam is an essential component to a "Steam Iron", so it basically is a non performer in my book.

This iron is lighter than expected (have owned the Digital 2020 previously) for what I need for garment construction. The non-stick plate creates static when ironing paper or tissue which is sometimes needed for pattern drafting.
the blue lighted display is also a little hard to read
However, the spray nozzle works well. The push buttons for up and down on the heat level are good. Relatively inexpensive from Amazon. If you need a light iron this is for you.
