Tools and Hardware Reviews of Black & Decker F1000 Steam Advantage Iron, White

Customer Review: Hmm!! Average one
Summary: 2 Stars

Not so good as described. A bit sticky, can hold only small quantity of water for the steam. So you end up filling it for each cloth.

Customer Review: Leaky....
Summary: 1 Stars

I bought this product with high hopes b/c i associate Black & Decker with quality. This iron is terrible! It leaks water ALL over everything, the ironing board and the clothes. The area to see the water level is basically opaque and its impossible to see. This iron also turns off with some safety mechanism really quick. So while you are arranging another article of clothing on the ironing board this iron goes into safety mode and turns off, and you have to unplug and re-plug to override. Avoid this item!!!

Customer Review: Not very satisified - I'd recommend against buying this item
Summary: 1 Stars

I purchased this iron because it was small and light weight but the quality is poor at best. In only one month the spray button broke and before the end of the second month, the steam stopped functioning. I replaced this iron again after only two months of use. I didn't buy another one of these. I'd strongly recommend considering another iron before purchasing this one.

Very Unsatisified Customer

Customer Review: Ok, for the price
Summary: 3 Stars

I read the reviews of several more expensive irons, but they all seemed to have one or more fatal flaws and/or be outrageously expensive. This isn't my main iron, just the one in my laundry room, so I wasn't looking to spend tons of money. There are three features that I really don't like, but can live with given the low, low price. (The three problems are: the VERY poor visibility of the water window (mentioned by other reviewers), the settings dial is very small and hard to turn (it would be a truly fatal flaw for anyone with hand/finger strength or dexterity issues - beware!), and (just mentioned by another reviewer) the fact that when the iron's auto-turnoff acts, the only way to get the iron back on is to unplug it and plug it back in. This is not described well in the directions, at all, and I actually replaced the wall outlet before figuring out it was the iron, not a faulty outlet.) This iron heats up fine, though, and steams well...and again, given the low price, it's OK.

Customer Review: Piece of crap
Summary: 1 Stars

Worked fine for 6 months. From time to time the iron would shut off and not come back on. Totally frustrating because now the iron will come on only after about 20 times of plugging and unplugging. The light's on but it won't heat. BTW...the steam feature is great but you cannot turn it off at higher settings. You have to empty the water if you don't want steam.
