This thing is a lot heavier than I expected. It cuts well, but it will not come close to cutting 3/4 inch branches as advertised. In fact, it takes multiple efforts to cut 1/2 inch branches. I have alot trees and hedges and i have worked with alot of different brands over the years, and by FAR this is the best hedge trimmer i've ever worked with...it cuts very easy and for real 3/4 of inch branches , its light weight, and the balance on this trimmer is great...its a commercial grade trimmer ,but electric, and WELL worth the money....
i wanted to write this review and i hope it helps, it seems like alot of products these days aren't as good as yester year but this one is, it will take you back to when products you bought was more reliable and not replacing them every couple of months...
Black and Decker has a winner here with the HH2450 you won't be disappointed..

After using various hedge trimmers for 40 years, this is SUCH an improvement, I can't believe it! It's well balanced, powerful and almost vibration free. Of course, a heavy duty extension cord of a reasonable length should be used, or else it will burn up. I have only used the trimmer twice, but I notice that it is lighter weight and therefore easier to use than my over ten year old B&D Trimmer whose motor stopped working.
Of course, Amazon shipped this promptly and the price was the lowest I could find.
It's nice to have the longest length electric trimmer currently available and I look forward to many years of service. It is fully capable of cutting small branches as advertised. The plug in for the electric cord is conveniently placed on a short cord length separate from the trimmer so it is easy to keep the cord out of my way.
