After using various hedge trimmers for 40 years, this is SUCH an improvement, I can't believe it! It's well balanced, powerful and almost vibration free. Of course, a heavy duty extension cord of a reasonable length should be used, or else it will burn up. Iwas all set to purchase a gas hedge trimmer. Stihl or Echo seemed to be the best.Im 69 years old and after trying the Echo trimmer once at home ,at 11 lbs I knew it would be too heavy for extended use. then my daughter said to try a Black&Decker trimmer. all i can say is WOW this thing really works great! Idid all our hedges in record time and had fun doing it. buy it and you will be glad that you did . CAUTION! when using think CORD! I've been using gas powered hedgers for over 30 years and without a doubt for comparison purposes this electric one is the best of all for ease of use,less fatigue, quietness, good ballance, smooth operation, and overall quality of results. Just plug it in and start cutting. I've used it using extension cords up to 160 ft.(14 guage wire) cutting branches up to 3/8 in. in diameter without any noticeable loss of power.
