I received mine on August 13, 2009 (two days with Prime) and on the 14th, proceeded to trim the hedges and a Chinese Holly. Well, after about two hours of work, everything was done both properly and quickly. The HedgeHog didn't exhibit any vibration problems nor did it get stuck on the thickest branches. It was relatively quiet as well. This fall or winter, I plan on trimming several other plants with this really efficient trimmer. Hats off to Black & Decker!!
(I used to use a Craftsman 18" unit which seemed to *constantly* get stuck on several branches. No more!!!) I should add, the longer reach of the HedgeHog meant far less work.

Poor packaging from the Amazon supplier resulted in the blade arm being bent in transit... Lose, lose situation for everyone involved. Me, UPS, Amazon, and their seller. This is the third electric hedge trimmer I have bought in the last 38 years. My first was a smaller Black and Decker that gave good service. When it wore out I got a Ryobi from Home Depot that didn't last nearly as long. But this new Black and Decker is much more powerful. It cuts right through thick branches on the shrubbery. It doesn't jam. I selected it based on the good performance of my son's HedgeHog electric string trimmer. I am very well pleased and highly recommend this hedge trimmer.
It sure beats a pair of hand shears.

I purchased this item based on all the high reviews. My experience with using this item was not that complimentary. This hedge trimmer has a very long handle and motor area making it a little cumbersome to use. It's cutting blades and ability to cut through hedge branches show mediocre performance at best. I had an older generic hedge trimmer which was 10 years old and worked as well as this trimmer. Actually I would still be using my old trimmer except for the fact it was stolen. My rating of 3 stars is all this item can muster.
