Tools and Hardware Reviews of Black & Decker HH2455 24" Hedge Hog Hedge Trimmer

Customer Review: Super Trimmer
Summary: 5 Stars

I've been using a 18 inch Sears gas trimmer for years. The Hedge Hog beats in hands down in every way. Powerful, fast cutting, light weight and those extra inches comes in very handy. The only negative thing I can think of is that you are tied to a power cord.Buy yourself two fifty foot 12guage extension cords and you will be able to handle most of the jobs around your home. I live on an acre but the 100 foot cord lets me get to about 90 percent of my trimming needs. One other thing, how about a 30 inch (or larger) model ?

Customer Review: The Best Trimmer
Summary: 5 Stars

This is the best trimmer that I have owned. It trims everything very well. I like the extended cutting bar, the short electrical cord and the powerful motor.

Customer Review: The Bushes Met Their Match
Summary: 5 Stars

I have a lot of large bushes in my yard, and had gone through two small hedge trimmers over the years. The first one I got when I first bought the house and thought it would be enough (silly me); the second was slightly smaller than that one, but was free (a gift), so I used it. The first trimmer (B&D 18" model) lasted four years; the second (16" model) lasted two.

Two years later, this one is still going as strong as the day I got it. It makes trimming the bushes quick and easy. Last year I decided to cut some of my bushes back a little, and this went through even the really thick branches no problem. The thing I like about it he most is the anti-vibration technology. I think all of B&D's hedge trimmers have had this over the years, but the "new and improved" version in this trimmer is great. Even after spending hours trimming my hedges, my forearms aren't the least bit sore.

I am a firm believer that when it comes to tools, especially yard tools, the bigger/more powerful the better. If you have more than just a handful of bushes to trim, spend the couple of extra bucks and get this trimmer.

Customer Review: The perfect hog!
Summary: 5 Stars

I live on a ten acre ranch and there is lots of "bushy-grassy" landscaping. Never lets me down. Sure faster and easier than hedge clippers!

Customer Review: The right tool
Summary: 5 Stars

I purchased this hedge trimmer for some recurring heavy-duty work. It replaced a worn-out gas powered trimmer, and I was concerned that an electric might not be powerful enough. WRONG. The new HH2450 Hedge Hog was much easier to use, even on the heaviest job. It seems more powerful, is lighter and easier to handle, and simply cuts more quickly without bogging down. Other differences: the vibration from the gas trimmer made my arms tingle for hours. Not so with the electric. No gas, no mixing fuel, no smelly exhaust, much less noise and vibration, and the electric is much lighter.

Drawbacks: Only that you must tote the electric cord around. Not that much of an issue in my opinion. Also, it is not a wimpy rechargeable that must, of course, be recharged.

I'm not a big Black & Decker fan. Some products have been fine, but others failed to meet expectations. B & D definitely got it right this time.

Also note: this trimmer can handle 3/4 inch branches. 3/8 inch might be OK for some applications, but not for me.
