Bought this thing two years ago, I trim all my brushes, shrubs, and hedges once a year (so this thing has seen little use). Yesterday, it stopped working, sounds like a plastic gear inside has stripped out. Hopefully, I can disassemble and find a replacement part. If not, I'll never purchase another B&D product. It's time for them to wake up and stop building crap...especially for the price I paid! Bottom line: if you have more than 2 bushes to trim, don't expect this thing to last more than a few seasons.Customer Review: Can't Beat it for the Price

My last Black and Decker Trimmer lasted 30 yrs and worked very well.
This new one is more powerful and trims larger diameter material.
Combined with a reasonable this is one great tool.

Great trimmer. Packaging was poor from Amazon's supplier and resulted in a bent blade arm. Returned and bought it at the local big box store. Watch out for the sharp edges on the orange plastic around the trigger- I cut my trigger finger fairly deeply. Suggest that buyers sand down the plastic in this area and/or try to wear gloves. The basic hardware store leather gloves didn't fit this handle well for me. I have notified B&D to suggest a product update.Customer Review: Cuts Fine/Be careful of shipping packaging

I have used this Hedge Hog once and it seems to cut OK. What was disappointing was how it was shipped. The warehouse simply sent it in it's original box without any protection. The blade protrudes in the package and it got bent. I was able to straighten it out, but it could have easily been broken or bent out of control. Amazon needs to be careful on packaging this to ensure it won't break or bend.Customer Review: Delivers on all counts!

I have a good sized yard (110 feet down one side) bordered with hedges seven to eight feet high. While I have a yard man, there are times I just like to get out and do the work myself. With that in mind, I purchased the B&D Hedge Hog with high expectations based on other reviews. Well, this piece of equipment delivers all that I had hoped for. I was able to trim 99% of all hedges with only the biggest branches requiring a hand held cutting tool. Even my yard man was impressed with how well the hedges looked. There is plenty of power, plenty of reach and it is not that heavy. This is the one to get hands down. Thanks to the other reviewers who made this an easy purchase and thanks to B&D for delivering a great piece of equipment. And lastly, I saved about $20-$25 over what I would have had to pay at Home Depot.
