Did just what it said it would do. Choked a little on the thickest branches. Able to trim hedges relatively effortlessly that my old, little hedge trimmer choked on completely. I am very satisfied. Works fine. We will see about longevity - I had a problem with a B&D string trimmer - it died shortly after the 2 year warranty expired. Of course, I used it every over week - far more than I will use this. Fortunately, I do get a one year warranty extension with my Amazon VISA card.Customer Review: Don't get to happy with this....

We had just gotten a house and inherited a jungle of ivy, Italian cypress, and bougainvillea bushes. This worked wonderfully on them. We tried cutting the jungle with a chainsaw first, but that actually did not work as well on the smaller branches.
It is not heavy so it can be used for a couple hours without taking a break. You do have to be careful, as the cord is there, but it is lighter than the gas versions, as with those, you have to hold up the weight of the gas. Same for the chunky battery kind. Those were heavier when we tried them.
We've been using this for over a year without any problems. I highly recommend this hedge hog.

This hedge trimmer does exactly what Black&Decker claim it will. It cuts quickly and easily. It can be a touch slow on the bigger branches that are quoted within the size limits. Otherwise, great product so far. I have only used it a couple times and owned it for only a few months, so I can't comment on longterm reliability.
