This was bought to replace a an electric mower purchased about 20 years ago. My yard is small (1/8 acre including house) so I do not need a heavy duty mower. The old mower failed because a built in cord got frayed and could not be fixed. The new model does not have a cord, but a built in plug that should eliminate the fraying problem. It also has a clip for the cord to help keep it from separating. The old model was metal, this one has a heavy duty plastic housing, but what a difference in weight. I was surprised when I first pushed it. Also, the noise level has decreased. Overall I am greatly satisfied with my new purchase. Remember it is corded. But if you are alright with that it is a great machine for a small area.Customer Review: Better than Normal

This electric lawnmower is easy to push and easy to handle. It is far better than gasoline powered lawn mowers, though it takes a little to get use to an electrical cord being around. Other than watching and making sure the cord is out of the way, it is easy to mow the lawn.
Update: This is May 2009 and this lawnmower is still running strong with NO problems. Would buy another one if this one ever goes out.

I love this mower! I have always loved Black & Decker products.
So I bought it last week and only had a chance to mow once
It is great! I had tall grass from last fall when
I couldn't find someone to mow my yard.
My gas mower broke down last summer.
My yard is small so I just need a small cut path.
This one is so light weight..
I can even do the small hill in my front yard.
The height adjustment is so easy to do.
It went through the tall grass without dying....
my old gas mower would die then I would have to let it cool
down before trying to start it again.
The cord it no problem especially if you're use to a corded weedeater.
Just put the cord on the side you have mowed. Simple. Sweet!
All I do is wipe out the undercarrage and deck with a rag.
No more stinky gas mower ever again.
My neighbors are itchin' to borrow it.
I have to hide it inside.

I purchased this product because of past experience with a Black & Decker Electric Mower I purchased in 1988. That mower lasted until about 2 months ago. Believe it or not no repairs were needed and only had to replace the wheels twice in 20 years of use! This machine, is so great!!! It's a start and go product, very light weight but does a heavy duty job without problems, it has adjustable height on the deck, easy to move about with. Perfect for close cut projects such as flower beds,and along side walks, as well as the entire lawn. With it I purchased the coleman 100 foot extentsion cord, and it's also perfect for this item. Cleaning of this mower is simple and easy, just simply spray off debris with a garden hose under the deck, this machine has guards and does NOT throw things at the person using it, I find it to be an excellent product and would suggest that any person needing an easy assembly, easy to maintain, easy to use mower, puchase this item. There are also extra's that can be purchased to go along with it. It's just truly a great mower. You couldn't ask for more from a product like this.
