This very basic electric is easy to use and plenty powerful enough for my small lawn. Cord is no problem since my lawn is so small, but if you are doing a lot of back-and-forth you may have to watch out for the cord. No problem to start, which is the major reason why I dumped my gas-powered mower. Appears solid enough for the price. Good Mower!!Customer Review: Didn't last long

I bought this mower 4 years ago, and have used electrics my whole life. I'm a big electric mower fan. I was happy with this one until it just plain-out and died last year. Could not be fixed. I was disappointed that it had only lasted 3-4 years. My lawn is about 1/2 acre of short weeds and some grass (nothing manicured or mono-culture here!). I mowed often, and mowed high if the grass was long. Did everything right...and it still didn't last.
I plan on getting the $200 model this year and hope it will have a longer life-time than the this one.

Strengths: Relatively inexpensive; good cutting-height control mechanism, excellent release for quickly stopping the blade.
Weaknesses: The optional bag does not stay on the mower; the handles are not adjustable, resulting in hunched mowing (for a 6'2" person) and excessive storage space requirement; the electric cord holder is ineffective and does not allow flexible placement of cord.
Comments: This very basic mower has some innovative features, but lacks some very useful, old features. It gets the job done, but I would pay more in the future for a better designed mower. I recommend buying a different mower.

Before purchasing this lawnmower I did my research, including reading all of the comments from reviewers of this product on Amazon. So I know some of the negatives but I also know that most comments were really positive and I agree. My shipment came sooner than I expected, I assembled the mower in less than 30 minutes, maybe 15, and all of the instructions were clear and easy to understand. The lever to change the grass cutting height is easy to adjust. Turning the mower on and off couldn't be simpler. I have a basically flat yard, with lots of ruts and different types of grasses. The mower has been totally fine. The manual says how to handle thick grasses and high grasses, and some of the concerns that people have expressed are true--for example, thick and tall grass is more stubborn--but by following the manual's instructions, by slowing down as I walk, the mower handles those areas just fine. I knew I'd have to manage a big long cord, but it's like people say--sort of like vacuuming and making sure you don't run over the cord. But as long as you have a plan and watch what you're doing, it's not a big deal--considering all the positives: like less noise, no fumes, no empty containers of gas sitting around in the garage, easy to operate and clean, and simple to turn off and on. It's easier to maneuver than gas-powered mowers I've used and weighs less than most, I think. So, basically, it does exactly what it says it does, and I'm completely satisfied. So if this is the type of mower you're looking for, I highly recommend it. If you're looking for the ultra lawn machine, you'll probably want something else and it will cost a lot more money.Customer Review: Does What I Want

I bought this lawn mower particulary to mow a ditch bank at the front of my yard. I had previously used a gas mower which had all the negatives of "hard to start","money for gas","oil changes" and "pollution". Not to mention the difficulty of pushing a heavy gas mower on an angled ditch bank.
This electric mower has none of the negatives disscussed above and does a great job of mowing grass.
