I was looking for a pole saw when I ran across this tool. It turned out to be much better suited to my needs - clearing some partiality downed trees and brush in the back yard - than either a pole saw or a conventional chainsaw. With a chainsaw there is a lot of bending over and constantly repositioning limbs to keep them clear of the ground before cutting. With this lopper you simply cut them wherever they happen to be and it's very quick and easy. Highly recommended for any jobs short of cutting down trees of greater than about 4" in diameter - and even then it's a handy complement for trimming and sectioning any tree once it's down. Also, even with just the standard free delivery mine was shipped immediately and from a relatively nearby location and it arrived at my door in less than 48 hours!Customer Review: A safe, convenient and functional invention.

Men love gadgets, and merchants continue to come up with fancy but useless gadgets to sell them. This, however, is an exception that is a truly useful innovation.
Technically, the Alligator Lopper is a mini-chain-saw with metal guards on both sides, one of which doubles as a clamping jaw. Functionally, it acts as a super-sized and super-powered lopper. It can easily cut through branches up to 5-6" in diameter in one pass.
A recent storm brought down a sizable dead branch from one of the oak trees in my yard. This Alligator Lopper took care of it easily. I actually spent more time with the extension power cable than the actual cutting. Without it, I would have had to get a chain saw, which would be a lot more difficult and dangerous.

Although this tool takes some getting used to, this thing is better than a chainsaw for branches up to 4 inches thick. And there's no kickback like a chainsaw. It makes short work out of sizing bundles of branches for pickup. It can even cut branches at ground level. To keep from constantly flipping the chain, keep your hands on the power buttons til you cut completely through what ever it is. There is nothing like this. You'll be dreaming up uses for this tool.

I have a big yard with a lot of trees and shrubs, On my first try the chain came off a couple of times. It was easy to put back on and I figured that it was time to read the directions. I used it this afternoon and the chain came off once. I may have been a little too aggressive. There is one big problem. My idea of pruning and trimming isn't the same as my wife's idea of how much to take off. She hasn't seen today's handywork, I know i'm going to be in trouble. If you have a lot of trimming and use the long handled pruning shears I would recommend that you buy one.Customer Review: AMAZING PRODUCT

I have never written a review before but I HAD to endorse this product. In fact I just ordered another one as I never want to be without one. It has already paid for itself several times over with the yardwork I can now do myself. Safe, easy to use, lightweight enought to manage-and I have back problems.
