Tools and Hardware Reviews of Black & Decker MM275 18-Inch 9 amp Electric Mulching Mower

Customer Review: Goodbye gas mower.....forever :-)
Summary: 5 Stars

I had this mower out of the box and cutting my grass in 15 minutes flat. I thought the cord would be a nuisance but it's not because I don't have a lot of grass to cut. This mower is light enough for me to maneuver with one arm. The mulching feature works great and the mower cuts the grass evenly and neatly. It is very quiet too which is really a big plus. Unless I had a lot of grass to cut I would probably never buy a gas mower again. I'm glad my wife talked me into trying this mower. My old gas mower was starting to act up and starting it was becoming a nuisance. No more fiddling with the carburetor and getting gas all over my hands. Another plus is that you don't have to "winterize" an electric mower. Amazon was great and had my mower delivered in 3 days.

Customer Review: Great for small yards
Summary: 5 Stars

This has been my third summer using this mower. I live in a site condo so the yard is small. Cuts like a regular gas mower without the fumes and trips to the gas station. I love the lever it has to turn on rather than a pull cord.

Pros:

No extra cost for gas or worrying about running out of gas.
Easy on/off switch--no cord
Light weight so there is no effort in pushing it through thick grass
Mulches grass- so no mess to clean up afterwards

Cons:
Electric cords-- battery powered/cordless would have been ideal!

After the first season, I have mastered the electric cord and learned how not to let it get in the way. You just have learn a technique that works best for you.

Customer Review: Great little mower
Summary: 5 Stars

When I divorced and moved into my own house, I passed our dirty, oily, heavy, gas mower onto my ex - since we'd used a landscaper for this task, it had gone unused for years. When I realized I couldn't afford to keep the landscaper, I contacted the ex about borrowing the mower, but he said it was leaking so much oil he couldn't put it in his truck to bring it over. I made the decision to buy a mower and start doing the lawn on my own again.

I don't think I even realized there was such a thing as a corded electric mower, but the more I read about them, the more I liked the idea. I found a good deal on this model at another retailer (paid about $180) and brought it home and put it together. Assembly was relatively easy, except for two little corded whatzits on the back that are supposed to plug into two openings under the handle for some unknown reason. I ended up searching for assembly advice online and followed another consumer in just letting them dangle behind - which after several months has caused no problem.

I use the mower every week or two, and it does an excellent job - I love how easy it is to raise and lower the blade, and I'm always shocked at how relatively clean it stays underneath. Avoiding the cord turns out to be surprisingly easy, and the mower is lightweight and easy to steer and push. I'm very pleased with the purchase, and would recommend it to anyone with a reasonable small yard (mine is, and I use three long extension cords to make it all around).

Customer Review: Great little mower
Summary: 4 Stars

Good Mower for small jobs. Very quiet, easy to assemble, and disassemble for storage. One cool thing is that there is one lever to adjust the height of all the wheels on the mower

Customer Review: Great mower for a small yard
Summary: 5 Stars

Black & Decker Electric Mower MM275
We have a small yard which I had been mowing with a hand reel mower. The Black and Decker electric mower does a far superior job in less time. I had used electric tools ion the past (hedge clippers, string trimmer, etc.). and so was accustomed to handling the electric cord with care. Someone who has never used outdoor electric appliances could find it more difficult to avoid running over the cord
The mower is well built and fits my needs. I would buy it again.
