Tools and Hardware Reviews of Black & Decker MM575 Lawn Hog 18-Inch 12 amp Electric Mulching MowerCustomer Review: Great Lawn Mower for a small & medium size lawn Summary: 5 Stars
This ia great lawn mower. No starting, gas, oil, or spark plug issues as with a gas mower. Easy to clean and the mulching feature eliminates the bagging of glass clipping. Installation took about 10 minutes to attach handle. Mininima cleaning after each use.
I just got it. To establish longevity and durablity, I will have to use it for at least 2 years without any issues and I will give it my outstanding rating,i.e. 5+ stars.
Customer Review: Great Little Mower Summary: 5 Stars
We have a townhouse with a small backyard. So, we needed a light duty mower that could mulch so we wouldn't have to "bag it". Well, it took some time getting the mower (laziness) so the grass had grown out of control. I set it at the highest setting because I didn't want to overwhelm the mower. Did one pass and figured (laziness), I'll just set it at the height I want it. Mowed down the lawn effortlessly. It was quiet and pretty impressive. Rolled it back in my garage, picked it up (it's that light) and stored it away. Best yet, no clippings!
Customer Review: Great Mower Summary: 5 Stars
This is an excellent mower. I bought it because I had once borrowed one from a friend and it did an impressive job. What I liked the most was that it mulched so well. No clippings could be seen on the grass, giving the lawn a finished look. Problem is, my new mower is still on the porch, unassembled, because I don't have enough physical strength to push the handles into the mower. The ends that are supposed to slide into the slots are metal and a little too far apart for me to be able to push together easily and insert.
Customer Review: Great Mower - Short Life! Summary: 4 Stars
I'm not going to talk about the cord dance because that's an issue for gas vs electric mower. This reviewis about the MM575 mower and it is great! This mower has plowed through really tall thick grass and even some weeds that have gotten woody. I purchased it a mere 2 years ago (just out of the warranty period)and I went to plug it in last night and it would not start - completely dead. I would like to purchase another but I'm cautious about the life expectancy. It is easy to assemble -just add the handle, no tools required! And one touch of a lever is all it takes to raise or lower all 4 wheels.
Customer Review: Great for a small yard Summary: 4 Stars
I have asthma, and have not been able to mow my own lawn for many years due to my reaction to gas fumes and dust, so I bought this mower with some trepidation. It has worked out great, and is saving me over $90 per month in fees for someone else to mow my yard.
I've had the mower ror 3 months now (it has already paid for itself), and have been mowing every week with it. It cuts well, even in heavy grass and on slopes. You definately need a weed-eater as well, but that's been the case with any other mower I've ever seen used.
The cord is annoying at times, true, but I've figured out how to mow without having handle it constantly - it just took a little thinking, is all. I have many island beds and trees in the yard, so I do have to worry a bit about the cord getting stuck, but it's no more a bother than a vacuum cord is.
I would definately get this again, even if this one only lasts two years - I still will have saved a fair chunk of change.
I would not try this on a large lot (1/2 acre or more).
