Thank you all reviewers for help in making this purchase decision. I purchased this unit two days ago, and used it on my overgrown, still-damp lawn (had a brief window before the rains were due again--no choice). It did a great job, and was even able to make a path through some thigh-high wet weeds (wanted to push the envelope and see what it could do).
Cord was a nuisance for the first ten minutes, then it's just like vacuuming (only more exciting if you mess up!) Bought a 100' 14-gauge Yellow-jacket cord--no missing that in the grass. Expensive, but I hope that they last me for many years. Also thinking ahead a decade or two when I may be even less inclined to want to wrestle w/a difficult mower helped me justify my purchase.
Finished a few hours of mowing w/o the aches and soreness to which I have grown accustomed when thrashing around behind a gas mower. (I have a chronic shoulder injury from cord recoil, and that mower remains cranky and difficult to start. I often had to stand w/foot on handle, front wheels in the air, and use both hands to pull the cord.)
A few thoughts on this one: if you have tender skin on hands, you might want to wear gloves before a long mowing session. Also, found that the best way to keep the cord from being a nuisance in a narrow mowing area was to suspend it about head height from a nail or a hook for a hanging basket, w/some slack between mower and hook. A swiveling hook mounted in the halfway point along a back-and-forth stretch might be a good thing.
Obviously, I haven't had it long enough to run into some of the problems that others have, but can say that the bag was absolutely no problem--didn't need to fiddle w/it to get it to fill properly; as a matter of fact, I've never had a bag fill so well. You can see a hollow spot just behind the blower chute, and the rest fills uniformly.
Super easy to take bag off, put back on. (Used to try to take off/put on the bag on the other one w/mower still running because it was such a bear to restart; when emptying, had to force the bag open over the frame (which took two hands, requiring me to stand on handle to override auto-kill). This is sooooooo easy compared to that! Bag opening is the full size of the frame, so it just dumps.) Even w/my wet grass, I didn't block the chute unless I really abused it, and when I did, it was easily rectified.
Figuring out that I needed an electric mower was an epiphany, but the reviews here helped me take an educated risk. Thanks, reviewers, and thanks, Amazon, for maintaining this service. Very happy w/this purchase.
