Tools and Hardware Reviews of Black & Decker MM875 Lawn Hog 19-Inch 12 amp Electric Mulching Mower with Rear BagCustomer Review: Better than I thought Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased a new mower last year...this year it wouldn't start. I got so aggravated, and sick of yanking on the cord to start it even when it did work, that I decided an electric mower was the way to go. Hold the "on handle" against the grip and it's on...period.
It's great. Light...quieter than a gasoline engine...and does a great job of mowing the lawn. It does an excellent job at mulching.
A lot of people say to only get it with a very small lawn but I disagree...with a long enough cord, you're all set.
Well worth it.
Customer Review: Better than a gas mower any day Summary: 5 Stars
I had accumulated 3 gas mowers over the years. This year I couldn't get any of them started not even the one I had gotten "serviced" the year before. So I junked them all and got this electric mower and will never go back!
No messy smelly gas, no pulling, pulling, pulling a thousand times to MAYBE get the mower started, no loud gas engine.
I don't have a huge yard to mow so I got the corded, cheaper mower and a 100 foot extension cord is adequate for my needs. It can be annoying at times to keep the cord out of the way but it's worth it. The first time I mowed I would keep the mower going if I had to reach to move something because with gas mowers if you cut the engine you may never get it started again. When I first mistakenly let go and the electric mower stopped I had that awful feeling that I may not be able to finish mowing that day till I just pressed the lever and it started up.
You press up the lever and it starts! It cuts fine for my needs but the thing that made me give this mower 5 stars is you press the lever up and it starts!!! If you hate tempermental gas mowers that need servicing every year, throw your's out and get an electric mower!
Customer Review: Better than a gas mower! Summary: 5 Stars
My husband loves to mow our lawn now that we have this mower. It's not as noisy as our old gas mower and it cuts the grass nicely. My husband is 6'3 and used to have to bend over to mow our lawn, but he doesn't have to anymore because of the of the adjustable handbar. Plus he says it's easy to adjust. Well worth the $.
Customer Review: Better than older models Summary: 4 Stars
This is the third B&D electric mower I've owned. Though I was not especially dissatisfied with any of the previous ones (the first being a side-bag and the second a rear-bag mower), I'm much happier with this one. It has sufficient power, and the bag is not a problem if the grass is dry. The handle folds fairly readily for storage.
Customer Review: Better than the Homelite that it replaced Summary: 5 Stars
The title says it all. I really like the discharge to the bag on this one and the bottom of the bag stays straight to let the cut grass in. My previous mowers bag humped up over time and blocked the discharge so grass would build up under the machine and not do very good job for me. Only time will tell if the motor holds up better than the Homelite ne did.
