The trimmer does exactly what it is advertised to do. It cuts as well as the corded one I replaced it with and it is really nice not having to deal with extension cords, including the aggravation of accidentally cutting the cord with the trimmer. This is a great hedge trimmer, excellent value in terms of price, has a larger size blade and all the features you want: easy to maneuver, can handle larger size branches with ease, and is not too heavy for a woman to use. I used it on an overgrown hedge and it cut through the heavy duty areas with nary a problem. The electric makes it super easy to use as well, no need to goof around with gas and oil.
