Tools and Hardware Reviews of Black & Decker NHT518B 18 Volt Cordless Hedge Trimmer - Bare Tool (No Battery Or Charger)Customer Review: Black & Decker 18 volt cordless electric hedge trimmer Summary: 1 Stars
I returned this item because I originally gave it to a friend as a gift and he was not able to get the necessary charger and battery to run it. He was referred to a Black and Decker service outlet by Home Depot and the service outlet said the charger was on back order and they had no idea when they would get it.
Customer Review: Cordless Hedge Trimmer Summary: 4 Stars
Works great for my light use. I use it to trim branches that are drooping over my fence from an overgrown lot next door to my house, and the alley i must drive thru to park. It great to be able to take off down the alley on foot, whacking branches, far from an electrical outlet!
Customer Review: Died First day used Summary: 1 Stars
Either it seized or possibly the battery was bad. I charged the battery a full 9 hours. I liked the idea of cordless, but it stopped running while I was trimming a small shrub (was less than 1/4 inch diameter stems).
Customer Review: Disappointed Summary: 1 Stars
I recently bought the Black and Decker cordless Hedge Trimmer because I was tired of cords and already had batteries from other products.
I was using the trimmer for the first time and for less then ten minutes when it stopped working. I changed batteries and checked the blades. The motor smelled like it was burning. I waited for an hour for the trimmer to cool down but it still didn't work. I called Black and Decker and was told to call a DeWalt repair center several towns away. DeWalt took all my information and said I needed to bring it in for repairs which I did. Now I have to wait 10 to 15 business days for it. Customer Review: Great Product Summary: 5 Stars
Great Product, I bought the same trimmer 3 years a go, and it worked great but was getting a little dull, as I have 65 shrubs to trim almost year around, and almost all of them are round. trimmer is very lightweight, balanced, and sharp as a razor when new. I thought about trying to sharpend the blades up but the trimmer is fairly cheap to replace. Only weak part is the batteries, but I get by using 3 batteries, and replacing them ever year. Batteries are NOT on par with Dewalt or Makita but most people can get by with them.
