The Black and Decker cordless limb cutter works exactly as advertised. The tool is very easy to assemble and work with. If you follow the directions in the owners manual you will have no problem cutting limbs with this tool. I have recommended this tool to friends of mine, one of which already ordered one from Amazon.com. The carrying case takes a little practice to get the broken down unit inside, but has plenty of room one the tool has been stored. I always purchase a Christmas gift for myself of something I need. I reviewed all comments prior to purchasing. I found this to be extremely useful to me. I love the fact it is battery operated and that it could be handled fairly easy for a 65 yr old doing a lot of this outside work myself. At times it was a bit heavy when working on stuff for a long period of time as my shoulders and back seemed to bear the brunt of it. However, it did not splinter smaller branches if you followed the directions of the small cut at the underside of the branch first. On a lot of my stuff I have to kind of lean over a hillside to reach branches and it works fine. Nice cuts, reliable, glad for the battery as I can not handle gas or electric cutters. Gas ones are heavier and electric one always have to connect lots of cords to get through the wooded areas. Great product.Customer Review: B&D CORDLESS POLE SAW

The product performed o.k. for being 18volt. You can't cut all day with it, but it sure is a handy tool for gettin' at those out of reach places. A great upgrade for this tool would be lithium battery power.

It was just what I wanted. A saw to cut palm fronds from my many palm trees, and to reach high enough to clear out my 15 foot Queen Palms which are hard to get to. The chain saw worked well, and I am very happy with the results. I'm using this to cut my Queen Palms...much cheaper than paying someone. This pole saw works out very well. It cuts through the branches like butter. The saw is not too heavy, although you have to pay attention to the weight imbalance when the pole is extended. The only reason I didn't rate 5 stars is this binds up too easy. Strands from the branches wrap, binding up the saw.
