After the battery charge I was ready to use first on a bush outside the front door. I was very pleased it seemed to work better them my hand held one. I could stand back & see what I was doing. Next I went to the trees which is the reason for getting this. I walked around the tree trimming it was great, three trees & still had charge left. This is an inexpensive way to trim verses the gas type.

I priced a number of different brands/models and decided that this one best suit my price and needs. I was quite pleased with the Black and Decker 18-volt Cordless Pole Hedge Trimmer. It's a little heavy, however not too heavy to use.
It saved me a tremendous amount of time and enables me to trim all my hedges without having to climb a ladder. Not something I'd generally recommend for the elderly, but for most do it your selfers, I think you'll find it to be a beneficial purchase.

This product is bulky and,in my opinion, probably not going to be used by a woman due to its weight. However, for someone who has a lot of hedges, tree trimming, and other trimming that requires reach, this is a product you won't be able to do without.
I think what Black and Decker should do is elimated or come out with the option of no elbow. The elbow is bluky, combersome and adds weight and I don't use it; since I am probably average, that means that the elbow is not being used enough to make it worth while.
