I am a bit suprised by any review of this item less than 5 stars. It is lightweight, easy to use and has suprising power for a cordless. It can easily handle the clean up jobs for which it is designed. I find this product to meet and exceed my expectations.

after several months it does seem the batteries die more quickly. I would lower this to a 4 star but it does not seem to allow changes to the star ranking.
Customer Review: A little gutless, but handy for a quick sweep

I bought this B&D because I grew tired of using my plug-in electric version. Let's face it, it's a drag to haul out a 60 foot extension cord just to sweep some dust and leaves off the patio. I also own a gas-powered version, but it's the same deal with that - I save it for the truly big jobs.
So, this battery powered sweeper is a good buy - but the buyer should be aware that he is not getting something you could do a Saturday's worth of yard work with. I also recommend having a spare battery always charged, as the thing just runs out of juice too fast.
I'm glad I bought it because I just keep it in my back yard and when I need to sweep away dirt/dust, it's handy enough for that. But don't bother using this for any real work.

I purchased this sweeper for the specific task of blowing leaves off of my roof without the hassle of dealing with an electrical cord. If the leaves are dry it does the job very well. Wet walnut-tree leaves are a bit challenging though. The battery charge does not last long so having a second battery is essential. Aside from the short charge-life, the batteries are incredibly durable. I found this out after I dropped one of the plastic-encased batteries while on the roof. It slid down the roof, went over the edge and landed on a concrete walkway below - about a 9-foot drop. Watching it bounce a few times on the concrete, I was surprised it didn't shatter. I was even more surprised (shocked actually) when I put it in the blower and it still worked!
This blower also works well for blowing the dust out of a computer. I set my computer outside, took off the side panels, and blasted it with the blower. All sorts of accumulated dust was dislodged and was blown away without damaging or dislodging any of the internal components. If you try this, just don't get too close to the motherboard.

This is the last product I use in doing my lawn maintenance routine and what a time-saving device it is. After mowing & trimming I previously used a corded blower. This Black & Decker 18-volt Cordless Broom allows me to zip around my property with no cords to yank or reattach to a closer outlet behind me. It is quieter than the corded blower (and of course much quieter than any gas powered unit). The battery lasts a substantial amount of time but usually needs one change during the blowing process. The power of the unit is adequate to do most debris clearing jobs with ease but does not match the power of my previous corded unit. All things considered, however, I love this product and once again thank Black & Decker for a job well done.
