I have a 4 1/2 year old son who always wants to help out. We borrowed this from a friend after Hurricane Ike, and I couldn't believe that my peanut was able to use this. It is much quieter than it's gasoline cousin, and it is great for what we need. We are trying to go green, and we have purchased more of the Black and Decker cordless line because of this blower. I still can't believe that this was the best gift of Christmas, but it was!Customer Review: Best of the Available Options

Well, I bought this for my wife (I have a 2stroke gasoline blower, but she wanted something she could use). She is very pleased -> Hence, I am very pleased (when Mamma's not happy, nobody is happy). I was disappointed that they no longer are pkged with 2 batteries, but spousal unit reports that the charge of one battery is just about right for her. With only a couple of months use, it's too early to report on durability. However, the alternative was the Ryobi (at HomeDepot) -a good looking unit, priced less than this, but with NO batteries. AH, that's the rub, the battery and charger are more than the cost of the B&D broom, charger, and battery.
So, if you're looking for a lightweight broom (not the power of a corded or gasoline blower, but my wife is happy), this is probably the best way to go.

I bought this to clean inside my horse barn, which I'd previously swept with a regular corn broom. With the B&D cordless I can sweep the entire 30'x60' barn interior in about 5 minutes and have it looking spotless...but it's a good thing that's all the time it takes because with just that short amount of use the battery is dying. In previous reviews I've read that this unit apparently used to come with two batteries included in purchase. I wish that were still the case because my battery has to live on the charger otherwise it's useless. I use the blower 2-3 times a day so having a strong battery is important.
Apart from the crappy battery life I love using the blower; it sweeps, gets rid of cobwebs and dusts quickly and efficiently and way more thoroughly than anything else I've tried. As a woman I appreciate the very light weight of the unit too especially when I am using it overhead.

It's not as strong as a gas or electic blower but for me I LOVE IT. I can't start a gas blower, an electric blower you have all that cord to fool with so the cordless broom is prefect for me. Besides its light weight. I'm a senior adult lady and my arms doesn't get tired holding the broom. One of the best purchases I have made in a long time. I used to hate getting out my blower/cord to clean off my front and back area, but now it all I have to do is pick up the blower and off I go. I live in a townhouse and have a very small area to keep swept off. Now my neighbors are coming to their door when I am out to use it for their area.
